It is a single-layer jacket, mainly used in the spring and autumn, and summer. It is also the first jacket to use the ribbing cuff for military clothing. The first year of the Type A-1 Flight Jacket was mainly made of goatskin, and with the advent of the Type A-2 Flight Jacket in the 1930s, it was gradually replaced by the more practical Type A-2 Flight Jacket.
