The experience gained in the Battle of Tarawa has changed the design of the Marine Corps battle suit.In March 1944, the officially adopted the new style P-44 set (monochrome), with the advent of the P-44, the new camouflage combat set was also designed.

The camouflage top is very similar to the monochrome P44 top. There is also a large pocket on each side of the sill. But the small pocket on the left chest was cancelled. The USMC ink mark was also cancelled. The placket button is made of four buttons. In theory, this jacket can also be used on both sides.

Initially, the uniform was used by scouts and snipers. Although there were still many shortcomings (such as fabric fading after washing), the P-44 camouflage uniform was still worn by Marine members, especially during the Korean War and the early Vietnam War. .
