Design Background

Based on the early 55J14 G-1 specification introduced in 1947, this jacket follows the compact proportions and practical flight details of the first generation to carry the G-1 designation on its label. The goatskin shell, mouton collar, bi-swing back and knitted trim reflect the functional design developed for U.S. Navy aviation in the postwar period.
