In 1913, the U.S. Navy launched the first generation of deck work clothes (it was stipulated that this kind of work clothes can only be used when it is necessary to work, and usually still wear sailor's clothes). This is a pullover (there are two patch pockets under the chest). In 1917, the no patch pockets version appeared. In 1918, the buttoned front jacket appeared. In 1922, the buttoned front jacket has fully used replaced the previous pullover.
This denim jacket is a reproduction of the USN buttoned front denim jacket from the early 1920s. It's made of 9.5 oz selvedge denim, very close to the texture of the original version, and with detachable anchor pattern brass buttons of the original version style.
