In vintage clothing markets, we can occasionally encounter experimental Air Force flight jackets that, for various reasons, were never produced or distributed. Based on extensive historical research, we can be confident that this situation is common across the different military services.
These deck overalls are based on the 1940s DECK HOOK version and incorporate details of the waterproof and oil-proof single-layer version and the 3rd version's patch pockets, which has no Malden wool lining to make them suitable for more temperature environments. This is based on a reasonably imagined version of a product that existed in history, and it is very likely to be a real sample that existed during the product iteration experiment.
