The M-65 Equipment System evolved from the M-51, designed for Cold-Wet (above -10°C) and Cold-Dry (below -10°C) conditions. The Cold-Wet gear includes wool or cotton undershirts, wool shirts, and field jackets and pants with their liners. The Cold-Dry gear adds a Parka and Arctic Trousers with liners for extreme cold.

The M-65 Field Jacket was introduced in 1965 for the Vietnam War's harsh conditions and later became standard U.S. military issue until 2009, when replaced by ECWCS.

How to store the hidden hood:

Open the M-65 collar to find the internal connection to the body.

Roll the hood toward the back of the head for stability.

Evenly tuck the hood into itself.

Zip up to secure.
