This design recreates Robert De Niro's iconic look in Taxi Driver (1975). In the film, De Niro wore an M-65 jacket with an aluminum zipper, likely from the 1966-69 period.
The jacket is made from 12.2 oz custom nylon-cotton sateen fabric. It has a sturdy feel and strong wind resistance. The early OG-107 color scheme adds to its authenticity. The blended fabric is more durable and quick-drying compared to pure cotton.
The M-65 is the result of continuous improvements from the M-41, M-43, and M-51 models. It keeps the four large bellows pockets from the M-43 and M-51. The waist drawstring is internal to prevent snagging. Expandable gauntlet cuffs protect the hands. Shoulder straps are included for design accuracy, as they were originally used for dragging casualties or attaching insignia. Back pleats increase mobility, and the slightly tapered waist gives a sharp, streamlined look.
