In early 1943, the U.S. Army produced a small number of two-piece (jacket and trousers) herringbone (HBT) duck-hunting camouflage uniforms. But, It is easy to cause the wrong damage to their comrades. So they were quickly discontinued. Surplus stocks were used in the Korean War and even the early Vietnam War.
M-43 Camouflage Jacket was designed for use by armored troops, more elaborate than the regular Army version, with all the buttons hidden under the cloth, like the overalls version, so that they wouldn't be scratched. Sleeves and elbows are reinforced with double patches, which are solid and durable. It has a loose cut, which is more convenient for movement. Although it is double-sided camouflage, it can not be worn on both sides because it does not require field work like soldiers of the U.S.M.C.
Our reproduction is made of 10 oz. herringbone twill, 100% cotton, double-sided duck hunting camouflage, with chocolate-colored natural corozo buttons.
