The USMC adopted the P-41 uniform in November 1941, which consisted of a jacket and pants. It was initially intended to be worn for work and training. Still, with the outbreak of the war, The USMC immediately put the wear-resistant and comfortable workwear to use in combat, and the P-41 became known as a combat uniform.
The early P-41 Utility Trousers had a patch pocket design, which was soon changed to a front angled pocket design, similar to the USN N-3 HBT Trousers, with a more straightforward design.
The P-41 uniform was widely used throughout World War II in the Marine Corps and the Pacific Theater. As for the P44, which emerged later in World War II, was distributed in a small number of units.
