The 42801XX is inspired by the simplified five-pocket jeans of 1942. Under U.S. wartime production regulations, denim workwear was classified as staple work clothing, while nonessential details were reduced to conserve materials. Branded hardware was replaced with standardized laurel buttons, creating the stripped-back character of the wartime model.

Made from 14 oz raw selvedge denim woven with ring-spun cotton yarn, the fabric has a visible vertical slub texture and will develop varied fading with wear and washing.

The jeans are sewn throughout with Japanese GUNZE cotton thread, allowing the thread and denim to shrink together after washing and create natural puckering along the seams. Iron laurel buttons, rivets, and hidden rivets will gradually oxidize and develop a natural patina. Each pair is sewn from start to finish by a dedicated team working exclusively on the 42801XX.
