The NAF-1168 Deck Jacket was introduced by the U.S. Naval Aviation between 1941 and early 1943. Its name derives from the Naval Aircraft Factory (NAF), with the number 1168 corresponding to the Navy Aeronautical Specification.

The exterior is crafted from heavyweight cotton sateen, offering excellent wind resistance and water-repellent properties, effectively shedding moisture in rain or snow. Inside, a thickened brushed fleece blend of 50% alpaca and 50% wool provides a soft handfeel and superior warmth. The jacket features a clean, print-free exterior, embodying a timeless, understated design.

• Outer Shell: 14 oz heavyweight jungle cross fabric, made with traditional ring‑spun combed cotton yarn and a light water‑resistant coating.
• Inner Lining: 900 g (approx.) flocked wool blend lining—50% alpaca, 50% wool.
• Zipper: TALON brass zipper.
• Ribbing: Seamless tubular knit, 100% wool, woven on specialty equipment for an intentionally textured, irregular finish.
• Khaki Version Specifics:
  – Zipper is attached below the neck rib, without stitching through the rib itself.
  – Lower welt pockets feature a wider “D”‑shaped design, set higher above the hem ribbing.
