Customer photo review of US Army 1st Model M-65 Field Jacket

I’m no supermodel. I’ve got a big bust, butt, and thighs. However, this jacket looks amazing on me. I wish I could close it without it cinching a bit below my belly, but it is what it is! This jacket feels really well made and heavy duty and warm. I can see myself wearing a nice knit underneath it during the colder months. 10/10. Please do make sure you measure yourself properly before purchasing!

Excellent value, proper m-65 reproduction. Exactly the thing I was looking for and Bronson provided. I’m 5’9” and 150lbs, chest size of 37”. For most jackets I wear a size Small. For this jacket I sized down to an XS and it fits great everywhere except the sleeves. I figured it would be fine when I ordered, because Bronson mentions the model that wears XS is also 5’9” and around 150lbs. Turns out that guy just has kinda short arms. The sleeves are about a 1” too short for me personally, and they barely sit right past my wrist bone, which is still technically proper sleeve length but looks a little short for an m-65. Of course the inner sleeve extensions are there but they’re only on the side of the sleeve cuff so from most angles there’s still plenty of wrist showing, so they don’t help much with the illusion of a longer sleeve from my experience. I don’t use them, I only pull them down slightly to give an extra 1/4” to the sleeve while still being slightly velcro’d in. However I don’t regret choosing XS though because I wanted a modern fit and that’s what I got, and it looks and fits great. Now the fabric. It’s very tough and takes a while to break-in for a casual look. I’ve washed it twice with a cup of distilled white vinegar and threw it in the dryer on air-dry about 10 times just to throw it around and beat up the stiff fabric a little. Also been wearing it as much as I could (it’s September and it’s still kinda hot) for 2 weeks, and just using it and moving around in it helped it shape to me considerably. Once broken in, the jacket drapes nicely, is slightly soft to the touch, and has some nice natural wrinkles coming in. At first the shoulder pleats were a problem, when the jacket was new they were stubborn and wanting to pop-out and flare outward. Washing it fixed it considerably and then wearing it/drying it a bunch pretty much fixed the problem for good. I imagine this problem will apply to anyone who sizes down like I did. TLDR: Other than the sleeve length, the jacket is perfect, and I’m looking forward to wearing it in cold weather. I consider the jacket to be high-maintenance at first and takes effort to break it in for a seamless casual look.

Magnífica , he tenido muchas M65 pero esta es mi favorita con diferencia. Como la original da mucha talla, si busca un look ajustado elige una o dos tallas por debajo de tu talla habitual. Arriba España!

Great jacket, looks very high-quality. Only downside: it arrived with a loose thread at the shoulder seam, but I was able to easily pull it off. Bronson MFG should really do quality checks before shipping. Fit advice: If you want a modern fit, go with your regular size! M here fits like a US M. I'm 180 cm (5'11") and 84 kg (185 lbs), and I took a size M. Pit-to-pit is 57 cm, shoulders 49–50 cm. There's enough room under the jacket for a sweatshirt.

It's a nice M-65 reproduction. The shell feels durable and is as heavy as the original, so it can be worn in cooler temperatures with some layering or a liner. The jacket has all the features of a genuine M-65 except for the epaulets. There are even button holes in the collar to accommodate an M-51/65 parka hood. My biggest issue with the jacket is the bottom two pockets. They're barely deep enough to fit my hands in them and are quite tight when the jacket is zipped up, making them not as comfortable as hand pockets compared to an original M-65. If the pockets were just a bit bigger, they'd be perfect for keeping my hands in them and carrying small items.

Have been looking for a quality M-65 field jacket for a while now. Had a surplus one back in high school that was bomb proof. It was my all weather go to jacket. Most commercially available varieties are just not equal to that old surplus M-65. This one on the other hand is it's equal. Aside from no epulets and the zippers being aluminum instead of brass, this one is a dead ringer. Finally found a rock solid M-65 that won't break the bank. Top quality at a decent price. Well done guys!

I'm very pleased with the jacket. It's a bit smaller and fits me better than genuine US military issue field jacket in the same size. For reference, I'm 5'7" and weigh 115 lbs and chose size XS/34. It's not too big, but is roomy enough for a liner and a sweatshirt underneath. The material is hefty and the construction is pretty solid. I love the color - pretty nice olive green. Stitches are a bit lighter green, though, but maybe it's because polyester thread won't fade and after a while will better match a faded and washed multiple times cotton fabric. Delivery to Europe took three weeks and tracking worked fine. Thank you Bronson!

I didn't end up keeping the jacket because it was too big on me BUT the jacket was exceptionally made with great attention to detail. The price was reasonable. Even though the jacket didn't fit, customer service responded immediately and offered store credit for other items which I gladly appreciated. Customer service reps were prompt and helpful. Thanks guys!

Hello, my jacket has no buttons in the front of the sleeves to fasten the sleeves of the liner. Your pictures of the liner show the buttons inside the jacket. The jacket is good - the liner is good, but unfortunately the buttons are missing.

Store owner replied: We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with our company and appreciate your support. We hope to continue to provide you with exceptional service and high-quality clothing.

Traded up from an M65 jacket that was pretty good but lacked a bit of authenticity. What I was looking for was more authenticity and also a better build quality and the Bronson jacket has delivered in both respects so i'm 100% satisfied. I can't wait to get the liner now. Shoutout also to the Bronson team who, because it was my first order, took the care to establish that I had ordered the correct size, and the shipping time to the UK was good and prompt.

Store owner replied: Really glad you like our product. 😊

Great jacket! Hefty and well-made. Great quality and detail, especially for the price. I’m very pleased. I’m 6 ft. y’all and the large may be a little big on me, but I prefer a snugger fit, so it’s probably fine for others who are similar height.

This is simply a fantastic M-65 jacket. The authentic details, solid construction, and sturdy fabric are what you’d typically find in more expensive versions. The jacket has substantial weight and a natural fit. If you’re considering the Bronson M-65 as a heritage piece, do not hesitate — it will make a beautiful addition to your wardrobe!

Great quality item. The M65 is made out of very heavy cotton and looks/feels great 😊 The customer service is great as well - very friendly and quick. I recommend Bronson a lot.

I've had my eye on a M65 for quite some time. Bought this along with its lining and both are top tier. Great fit, colour and quality.
